How Can I Tweak My Mindset For Cold Calling?

Here’s how:

When making cold calls, my goal is to get “no’s” not “yes’s.”

That’s right.

It’s foolish to worry about what I cannot control. So, why focus on “yes’s?”

So today, like every day…

I’ll set my target for 50 “no’s.”

When I do this a funny thing happens…

I NEVER reach 50.

Inevitably, my prospect will say on call 13, 27, or maybe even 49….

“Yes, I’d like to see how you solve that problem.”

When I make “yes’s” my goal, but get mostly “no’s”… I’m disappointed and defeated.

When I make “no’s” my goal, but get several “yes’s”… I’m surprised and inspired.

Of course, some might call me a pessimist.

Who cares?

The pragmatic seller is awarded president’s club.

The idealistic one gets a PIP.
